A study on the non-health determinants of family planning (FP) use in disaster-prone regions of the Philippines found that geographic location, socio-economic status, governance quality, discrimination, and shock and fragility significantly impacted women’s FP experiences. The study recommends enhancing access to free FP commodities and investing in disaster-resilient FP service delivery systems.

PSRP in partnership with UNFPA is supporting the DOH to align the Family Planning Costed Implementation Plan (CIP) with the DOH’s Devolution Transition Plan and Health Sector Strategy. This will ensure that family planning services are integrated into the broader healthcare system and that all Filipinos have access to quality care.
PSRP and the Philippine DOH are working together to develop Operational Guidelines on Mobile Health Units (MHU) or Women’s Health on Wheels (WHoW). These guidelines aim to implement a mobile health clinic strategy for underserved and marginalized women in remote and disaster-prone areas. They are expected to be completed by the end of this year.
SRH Watch Info is a real-time platform that tracks maternal deaths, family planning use, and contraceptive stock status. The Barcode Track and Trace System (BTTS) digitally manages contraceptive distribution using barcodes, offering real-time inventory, location, and usage data. The BTTS Mobile App works offline and syncs data when online, while the BTTS Web App generates reports for improved inventory management, reduced stockouts, increased efficiency, transparency, and better decision-making.
PSRP and UNFPA supports the Philippine Department of Health’s (DOH) sexual and reproductive health (SRH) data management.
